'Markki Stroem' (Marcello Angelo Stroem) is a Filipino Norwegian who first got noticed in ABS-CBN’s Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 where he became a finalist. From then on, his popularity has risen and has become part of ASAP (a variety show) and he also was one of the members of Boys R Boys (BRB) which won as the Most Promising Male Group in the Guillermo Mendoza Box Office Awards.

Known as the “the sexy jazz singer of the Philippines,” Markki Stroem not only makes his presence felt on Philippine TV and in the movies but he has been hosting and performing in corporate shows left and right. A music fan by nature, he enjoys listening to all genre including Broadway but his heart beats for the soul sound. He listens to a wide variety of artists such as John Legend, Adele, Robin Thicke, Lauryn Hill, India Arie and Up Dharma Down.

Markki also did some stage plays and movies. He played the lead character Henry in Next To Normal, by Atlantis Production in March of 2011 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City, directed by Bobby Garcia. He also co-starred in the movie, “Halik Sa Hangin,” Markki also did a role in a play titled “Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady.” Directed by Chris Martinez (of “Kimmy Dora” fame), the story revolves around a maid who works for super heroes, similar to the “Maritess And The Superfriends” monologue of comedian Rex Navarette. The play was from the creators of “Zsa Zsa Zaturnah.”
As as actor, he was nominated as Best Actor (Cinema 1 Originals Awards), Best Breakthrough Performance by an Actor (Golden Screen Awards), Best Breakthrough Actor (Gawad Tangi) and New Movie Actor of the Year (PMPC Star Awards for Movies) for Cinema One Originals 2012 Slumber Party. His 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival entry "10,000 hours" garnered 14 awards at the MMFF movie awards, including best movie for the 39th annual Metro Manila Film Festival.
Not just a singer, songwriter and arranger, he also dabbles in music video directing/producing. He produced and directed the following music videos: Rachelle Ann Go’s “Whispered Fear”, Christian Bautista and Neocolours’ “Sasabihin” and Noel Cabangon’s “Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka’. He also directed and co-produced his own singles “Steal Your Soul” and “Thousands of Pieces” which both gained outstanding response on the MYX charts.
He did his very first solo album "Thousands of Pieces" under Cornerstone Music, which topped the Astroplus top-selling album charts for September 2012.
