Cris Edwin Navarro first joined male pageants in Manhunt Philippines 2012 where he placed next to June Macasaet, who later on won the Manhunt International 2012 title in Bangkok.. He then came back and joined the Mr. United Continents Philippines 2015 where he was crowned Mr. Universal Ambassador Philippines 2015. He is set to represent the Philippines in the new male pageant Mr. Universal Ambassador 2015.
If everything goes on as scheduled, Mr.Universal Ambassador 2015 will be held in Surabaya this coming September 16. The contest moved to Surabaya after the national committee conducted comprehensive discussion with local Government since Indonesia will be commemorating the 10th Bali bombing memorial this coming September 2015. Surabaya is the 2nd largest city in Indonesia and provided international class facility for the guest
Around 40 countries are expected to join this very first edition of Mr.Universal Ambassador pageant. The winner of this event will be addressed to have activities both in entertainment (modeling & TV Show) and world youth affairs such as promoting healthy lifestyle, education and economic creativity for youth. MR.UNIVERSAL AMBASSADOR 2015 will stay for certain period in Surabaya and Jakarta, he will work together with the reigning Mister Indonesia and Mister Teen Indonesia.
Unfortunately, Cris Edwin Navarro may not be able to participate anymore because of some problems with his national organization. We hope they can patch things up before the international competition.
"Mr.Universal Ambassador is a male pageant which is established to provide a new standard for the men's competition. A winner of this contest must become a role model for others. Representative of each countries to our contest should be a role model who not only own a good track record, but must have a vision of the future. Currently we are doing our hard preparation for organizing this provision contest. We want to start this contest well, as allegedly huge.
As organizer, we have been working with the national director. Basically, we do not have an interest to intervene in case of problems in the country of our National Directors. According to the license agreement, National Director entitled to determine a representative of their country. National Director has also solely right to replace the representative of their country through legal means, official, and obvious. We believe that all National Directors have determined the best things for their country in the international contest that will be held.
We have received information via social media that Mr.Cris Edwin Navarro (Mr.Universal Ambassador Philippines 2015) has been dethroned by his organization on the grounds mentioned. But we have not yet received any official letter for this matter. Basically we do not have the right to interfere in the domestic affairs of any National Director / Contestant. But our concern is, that I as the owner and President of Mr.Universal Ambassador have been invited to the Philippines on April 15 and to be Chairman of the Board of the Judges during the local contest, Grand Final of Mister United Continents Philippines at Tanghalang Pasigueno, Pasig City. In the contest, there were four major titles, and one of the existing official title was Mr.Universal Ambassador Philippines. I included as the judges to determine Edwin as one of the winners. This dethronement is being discussed and potentially run as new conflict within Filipino stakeholders. Therefore, I feel it’s in a moral ethics to respond ahead this problem.
I am familiar with Mister United Continents Organization / Blue Circle Event & Management, I also know exactly how Edwin was. The conflict between the two parties makes us concerned. Especially many Filipino public who contacted us to assist in completing this problem. We have also received an explanation between the two sides are equally strong.
Refers to any of the above, I, as President of Mr.Universal Ambassador and Founder of IMP Organization, Producer of this event decided two of the following:
- For a while, we decided to suspend the participation of the Philippines to our pageant. We give time for 14 days for both sides to discuss in order to resolve this matter amicably, ethical, and legal principles adopted in accordance of Philippine society. Therefore, we will nullify the participation of the Philippines by removing the official photo of Mr.Edwin Navarro from our official website.
- If within 14 days there is no agreement between the two sides, Mister United Continents Organization (Blue Circle Event & Management) has the right to determine this replacement with an official signed letter obviously. While Mr. Cris Edwin Navarro is invited to participate in our contest next year if he has new Philippine National Director who can managed him.
This Press Release is not as a form of denial of new candidate proposed, namely Mr.Ricardo de Jesus, nor for disrespecting the progressive relation between the IMP Organization and Blue Circle Event & management. Edwin, Ricardo and one of the MUCP contestant from Naga City were three strong candidates who were expected to represent the Philippines to our event, they all fulfilled the standart of our pageant. We just want to start our contest with together happiness, and each representative should have the full support of the public from their countries. It is our official decision and we hope to be accepted by all parties."
